Before and After: The COVID-19 Pandemic in New York City

This collection of photos was taken in two sets: one at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in New York City in March, and another as restaurants, stores, and businesses began to recover and reopen to the public in August. The progression from emptiness to a new sense of life in New York can be observed from the film photos showcased here. I wanted to capture the transformation of NYC in districts such as SoHo, Chinatown, the Financial District, Fifth Avenue, and Greenwich Village, and the new outdoor dining culture that has resulted from the pandemic.
